An Australian mother has died after taking Ozempic and Saxenda for weight loss. People magazine reports that her family claims that she was taking the medication as prescribed by her doctor. She just wanted to lose a few pounds to fit into a dress for her daughter’s wedding.

Norvo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Ozempic and Wegovy, issued a statement on the shocking claims that the medication caused the woman’s death. “We stand behind the safety of Ozempic when used as indicated.”

Trish Webster, 56, only needed to lose 40 pounds. She chose a gorgeous dress for her daughter’s wedding and wanted to look her best.

Ray Webster, Trish’s husband, says that Trish saw an ad on television and made an appointment with her doctor. Right away, Trish started having gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
