The children (ages 2, 3, and 9) would play with their toys on the sidewalk. Marray didn’t like the kids playing on the sidewalk as it was directly in front of his unit. reports that on the day of the shooting, Marray saw a ball belonging to the children on the sidewalk. He kicked the ball off the sidewalk and rushed inside his apartment to grab his gun.
