This article should go viral. It describes my kids relationship with their father to a tee. The last interaction he had (after being absent for a year) was to ask my son, age 16, to give him a huge. Then he proceeds to force him to tell him he loves him more than me. My son was uncomfortable by it and I told him not to pressure the kids and force them to say things they don't mean. He yells at me, "Relax man, they aren't made of glass. I was only joking."
When he left, my son told me it made him uncomfortable and he does not want to see his dad again. He has no visitation as it is. After my ex's mask fell and he apparently lost it, court decided he was a danger to the kids until he received intense mental health assistance. He refuses. He's of sound mind, so he says...
I think moving forward keeping him away from my kids is best. He doesn't put their needs first. He only wants to see them because I have them. He believes I should allow him to see the kids half the time. This man lives in his car and is homeless.
Anyway, I am long-winded, but great piece. Thank you for sharing with us.
