Teachers Busted For Reportedly Running A Child Fighting Ring
The daycare reports there were no reported injuries from the fighting ring.
Two South Carolina daycare teachers face multiple charges for allegedly forcing three and four-year-olds to fight each other and not step in to protect the children from injury. New York Post reports that Kids Unlimited daycare employees Erika Jones and Serena Caldwell turned themselves in after learning the police issued a warrant for their arrest.
They were both charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unlawful conduct. Jones faces 14 charges, while Caldwell faces 15 counts.
According to WIS-TV, daycare owner Josh David Dawkins said that Jones and Caldwell were immediately fired after the staff reported their alleged c criminal behavior. The staff notified the South Carolina Department of Social Services and Newberry Sheriff’s Department to report the abuse.
“It was brought to the attention of our senior staff members that possible offensive behavior by two staff members may have occurred,” Dawkins said in a statement, according to WIS-TV. “After viewing security camera footage, the two staff members were immediately terminated.
