Sleepover Nightmare: Friend’s Dad Allegedly Drugged Girls, 12-Year-Old Calls Mom for Help

An Oregon man, Michael Meyden, 57, stands accused of drugging three 12-year-old girls with benzodiazepine at a sleepover in his home. People Crime reports that the man drugged the girls by giving them fruit smoothies and then waited for them to fall asleep.

Meyden turned himself into the police and is facing nine felony and misdemeanor charges, including “causing another to ingest a controlled substance against their will,” according to the Lake Oswego Police Department.

Police placed Meyden under arrest on Thursday, February 29. The Oregonian reports that bail was set at $50,000. Meyden posted bail and was released pending his next court appearance.

According to Oregon Live, investigators were called to the Randall Children’s Hospital last summer to speak with three young girls who were allegedly drugged at a sleepover. The children…
