San Jose Cop Resigns After An Internal Investigation Reveals 10 Pages Of ‘Vile’ Racist Text Messages

A San Jose police officer has resigned after his alleged racist text messages came to light during an internal investigation. Yahoo News reports that Mark McNamara resigned after learning the internal investigation discovered his racist text messages, one revealing his deep hatred for black people.

The now disgraced officer shot K’uan Green, a college football player, last year after Green was helping break up an on-campus fight. A month later, Green filed a lawsuit against San Jose and the police department, citing McNamara’s behavior as the reason for the legal action.

CBS reports that the police discovered McNamara’s text message while investigating an unrelated crime. They handed the evidence over to the internal investigations unit to conduct a more detailed probe into the officer’s text messages.
