Portland Woman Goes On A Racist Rant After A Security Guard Busts Her Shoplifting
Plummer now faces multiple charges for her ‘insane’ rant.
Janee Jewell Plummer, a 43-year-old Portland woman, is facing charges of two counts of bias crime, two counts of harassment, and third-degree theft and robbery. The Root reports that Plummer entered a grocery store, allegedly stuffed the items she wanted into a bag, and attempted to leave.
KATU reports that the loss prevention officer tried to restrain her. Plummer allegedly shouted racial slurs at the security guard, punched him, and spit in his face.
Portland police said that Plummer told them she did not intend to pay for the items. When questioned about the racial slurs, the woman tells the cops that she “doesn’t have to like Black people” and repeated the same racial slurs to law enforcement.
KATU reports that this type of behavior is not new to Plummer. Since 1999, she’s had 17 convictions. In February, Plummer served 14 days in county jail and received five years on probation for attempted robbery.
Plummer allegedly tried to kidnap a woman’s dogs while she was walking them. The woman claimed that Plummer chased her with a hammer and threatened to kill her. She will likely serve more than 14 days in county jail based on her new charges.
