A hearing has been scheduled for Scott Peterson, the man who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, and his unborn son, Connor Peterson. People Crime reports that the hearing came weeks after the Los Angeles Innocence Project took his case.

The status hearing will be held before California Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Hill on Tuesday, March 12. Peterson will appear in court via Zoom.

Laci was one month away from delivering her baby, Connor, when she went missing in 2002. Scott helped law enforcement with their search for his missing pregnant wife. Police discovered that Scott had an affair, which quickly put him as their prime suspect. Four months later, Laci’s body was found just a mile away from Connor.

Peterson received a death sentence for two counts of first-degree murder. He remained on death row for 15 years.
