I remember in middle school, a boy hurt my feelings so bad I don't know if I will ever shake it off. They did roll call and I was talking to a friend and not listening. This kid says to the teacher, "Chrissie is here. She's the one in the back with Amphibian eyes." He made me feel insecure about my big blue eyes. Years later I saw him at a gas station and he didn't age well at all. He noticed me and said I look the same as I did in school. I told him thank you and it was good to see him again.

It was that moment that I released my anger toward him and realized I didn't have to hold on to it anymore.
