Gypsy Rose Blanchard Prison Release: Regrets Mom’s Murder & Plans To Advocate For Abused Children
Gypsy wants to spend her life helping other children escape their abusers.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is out of prison after serving eight years for her role in her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, in 2015. People Magazine reports that Blanchard was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri around 3:30 AM.
Gypsy told People she’s ready for the next chapter in her life. She wants to prove to her family and loved ones that she can and will do something positive with her life.
Missouri court sentenced Gypsy to 10 years in prison in July 2016 after pleading guilty to murder for her role in Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard’s death. She served 85% of her sentence, and the parole board released her.
After Dee Dee was found in June 2015, Gypsy and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, were charged with her murder. Gypsy says that she is ashamed of what she did. She isn’t glad her mother is dead and struggles with guilt and regret over the crime.
