Grey’s Anatomy Alum Isaiah Washington Announces Retirement From Acting, Then Started A GoFundMe For His Next Movie
The actor announced his retirement from acting, stating the ‘haters’ won. After he realized people supported his career, he started a GoFundMe campaign to fund his movie project.
Isaiah Washington announced on Twitter that he’s retiring from acting. The Grey’s Anatomy alum, who played Dr. Preston Burke, tweeted that he’s retiring from the industry after fighting his haters for the past 12 years.
Us Weekly reported that Washington made headlines in 2007 after being fired from the medical drama after allegedly calling his co-star T.R. Knight a homophobic slur. In 2020, Washington fueled his old feud with former co-star Katherine Heigl about what happened n the Grey’s Anatomy set.
“It is with a heavy heart and a sense of relief that I am announcing my early retirement from the entertainment industry today. Those who have been following/witnessing my journey here on Twitter since 2011 all know that I have fought the good fight, but it seems that the haters, provocateurs, and the Useful Idiots have won,” Washington tweeted on February 28.
