Elliot Page Posts A Selfie With A ‘Trans Joy’ Body Positivity Message
‘Gender-Affirming Care Save My Life!’
Trans actor Elliot Page is finally happy in his skin. Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported the actor posted a shirtless selfie, captioning the image with an inspiring body positivity message. After years of insecurity and hating the way he looked, Page finally feels comfortable enough with his body to go shirtless on the beach.
The actor shared that he spent many years wearing an oversized t-shirt on the beach. He never felt comfortable with his body. But after undergoing gender-affirming surgeries, he felt comfortable in his skin. He took off his shirt, bearing his chest for all to see.
“Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt — or layers and oh so sweaty — constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T. It feels so good soaking in the sun now; I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body,” Page posted to Instagram. “I am so grateful for what gender-affirming care has allowed me, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon.”
