DoorDash customers who use their app for food delivery might think twice about skipping the tip. Fox Business reports that the app announced they are testing out a new pop-up warning the customers of food delays if they don’t add a tip for the driver.

The food delivery app says that the drivers can select which orders they want to take, and the app shows the driver the tip before they agree to accept the order. Because of this, DoorDash says that orders with no tip could take more time to deliver.

DoorDash clarifies that they pay the drivers anywhere from $2 to $10 per order, adding the drivers receive 100% of the tips on all orders.

A DoorDash representative said that the pop-up disclaimer about no tips is a test to create the best experience for the drivers and customers. They will examine the feedback from both drivers and customers and make changes to the company policy if needed.

DoorDash drivers believe this is a positive change, allowing them to make more money for the time invested. The customers are upset about the no-tip disclaimer, saying that DoorDash is discounting the amount of people who use cash to pay for driver’s tips.
